Welcome!
Mentoring is an art not a science. Just like fine art, in the art of mentoring, there are multiple techniques to achieve your desired result. I will be monitoring this section and look forward to hearing about your great ideas for match activities. Please remember before you get started to review the "Forum FAQs" and the "Forum Guidelines" that can be found by clicking the tabs at the top of the page.
I recently learned how to play disc golf with my mentee. What low-cost activities are your mentor's having success with?

Mentor Michigan and Michigan Campus Compact developed the College Positive Mentoring Toolkit, designed to provide mentors with information, conversation starters, match activity ideas, and ready-to-use activities, to help their mentees take important steps toward higher education. The guide is available for free download from the Mentor Michigan website. Although some of the information is specific to Michigan (they list the Michigan higher ed access web sites for example), the guides could be easily adapted for other states.

At Winning Futures, we have secured $5,000 in private funds to be able to offer our life skills and goal-setting workbooks, handbooks, and training program to organizations focusing on youth development (mentoring programs, schools, and churches). Agencies interested in implementing our evidence-based curriculum into their program just need to fill out a very SHORT application on our website www.WinningFuturesBooks.org.
Selected programs will receive the workbooks, handbooks, and training at no cost!

I'm looking for a fun, end-of-year activity for our school-based mentoring program. The couple activities I have in mind are craft-based and I'm concerned that teenage boys may not like them (and a couple of my mentors!). I really wanted to do something with photos but I'm open to ideas.
Our program serves 40 students, grades 3-12, so we could have a different activity for elementary and secondary students.
Thanks for your help!
