If you are interested in mentoring research, and the interplay between that research and program practices, then you might consider joining the "youthmentoring" listserv hosted by Dr. David DuBois of the University of Illinois-Chicago. As you may know, Dr. DuBois is one of the nation's leading mentoring researchers, as well as the co-editor of the indispensable Handbook of Youth Mentoring. His goal with this listserv is to create dialog between mentoring researchers and practitioners in the hopes that programs will be able to implement more proven practices in serving youth, while researchers learn about innovations already happening in the field.

The listserv is free to join; all you need to do is send your email address and name to Dr. DuBois at dldubois@uic.edu. You can choose to recieve messages either one at a time or in a daily digest format.

I'm thrilled to see this kind of listserv being provided to the field. I think tools like this (and, yes, these new Mentoring Forums too!) will go a long ways toward improving the quality of mentoring programs moving forward. These can be powerful learning and professional development opportunities for those of us working in the mentoring field. The more we can learn from each other, and share what we know openly, the better our services to youth will be.

So if you are interested, shoot David and email and join that conversation as well!
