Clarification of 2008 Cohort Reporting Deadlines
Judy Taylor posted this to the EDMentoring Forum, but I wanted to make sure it was posted here as well. This is a clarification from Bryan Williams and Earl Myers at the Department of Education about supplemental reporting of data by programs in the 2008 cohort. Bryan also asks that if you have additional questions, please contact your Program Officer as opposed to the listserv as individual program circumstances vary from Program to Program.
The message is as follows:
In regards to an annual report, the answer to the question is no - a report is not due in July. Your next annual performance report should be due about the same time as last year - February 20th give or take a few weeks.
However, since your annual performance report was requested prior to the end of your budget period, we only received partial data related to your performance measures. Each grantee was required to enter a date in box 11b of the ED 524B indicating when the additional performance measure information would be available. We usually allow a 90 day period for the submission of this supplemental information, however, since the 90 days period was roughly a month before most schools were out, we had no problem with grantees waiting until the end of the current school year.
If you are a 2008 grantee and you submitted complete data on the performance report (checked box 11 on the report) then there is no need for supplemental data. If you indicated that you did not submit complete data, then a supplemental report should be forwarded with the final data.
This is simply an update on what transpired in your program between January 22, 2009 and the end of the budget period. The report does not have to be submitted using the same forms or in the same format as the annual performance report and there is no instruction packet to be mailed out.
In fact it can be completed as a Word document and submitted via email.
Once received, the information you submit will be attached to the previously submitted annual performance report. The supplemental report must include a description of what transpired in your program between January 22, 2009 and the end of the budget period; your complete budget expenditures and complete data on all performance measures including the three GPRA indicators.
