New Report on Latino Youth and the Failure of the Justice System
This new report, from the National Council of La Raza and the Campaign for Youth Justice, will be of great interest to programs serving Latino youth involved in the justice system. It lays out in stark terms the racial disparities within our justice system, the way that state policies have driven more youth into adult prisons (even for sometimes minor or status offenses), and the futility and tragedy of many of our current practices regarding youth. The report includes information about national efforts for juvenile justice system reform and community intervention and prevention programs serving Latino youth.
