Deadlines: of Notice of Intent to Apply: June 23, 2010. Date of Pre-Application Meeting: June 17, 2010. Deadline for Transmittal of Full Applications: July 23, 2010.
Amount: 12 grants will be awarded of $500,000/year for a project period of up to 60 months.
Eligibility: Consortium consisting of a local educational agency, one or more community-based organizations, nonprofit organizations or other public or private entities.

Mentoring is one component of the new "Full Service Community Schools Program," designed to coordinate academic, social, and health services through partnerships between (1) Public elementary and secondary schools; (2) the schools' local educational agencies (LEAs); and (3) community-based organizations, nonprofit organizations, and other public or private entities. The purpose of this collaboration is to provide comprehensive academic, social, and health services for students, students' family members, and community members that will result in improved educational outcomes for children. Funds during the first year can be used for planning and capacity building and must be used for implementation in following years.
