This is interesting news for youth programs serving girls. OJJDP is seeking to establish a National Girls Institute (NGI) that will advance the understanding and application of promising and evidence-based prevention, intervention, treatment, and aftercare programs and services for delinquent and at-risk girls. NGI will accomplish its mission through a broad range of activities, including training and technical assistance; information dissemination; collaboration with researchers and program developers; partnership with federal, state, and local agencies; policy development; and other leadership functions.

Re: CLOSED: OJJDP: RFP to Establish a National Girls Institute

It closed Jun 30, 2010. When a grant that we have posted about passes its close date, we change the title of the post to reflect that closed status but keep the thread open in case people want to further discuss the grant.

I am not sure how many awards were made on this particular grant. I'm guessing it would be just one, since it involves the creation of an institute.
