Mentoring programs focused on service-learning may be interested in this funding announcement from the Corporation for National and Community Service. The Youth Engagement Zone (YEZ) initiative is a new Learn and Serve America program authorized by the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, for the creation community partnerships including community-based youth service programs; LEAs in high-poverty areas, and Community Colleges. Approximately $5.4 million for an estimated 4 to 12 grant awards that will range from approximately $300,000 to $450,000 per year for up to three years.
