New Webinar on Mentor Recruitment and Screening, March 29th
MENTOR has announced the next event in their series of webinars for mentoring practitioners on the revised Elements of Effective Practice. The next event is scheduled for March 29th from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm, EST, and covers the topics of mentor recruitment and screening.

"...this webinar will focus on the recruitment and screening standards from the third edition of the Elements. Specifically, we will address the benchmarks and enhancements such as recruitment strategies that include managing realistic expectations, the importance of screening procedures, such as written applications, face-to-face interviews and criminal background checks.
Featured speakers include Dr. Renée Spencer, Associate Professor, Boston University School of Social Work, who will discuss her research on why mentoring relationships fail. Additional speakers include Celeste Janssen, Program Manager, Oregon Mentors and Jenny Stern-Carusone, Program Director, Committed Partners for Youth/Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lane County, OR who will provide information on best practices and resources on how to adhere to the recruitment and screening benchmarks and enhancements."
