Website for planning service learning projects
Although this site is designed for classroom teachers who want to do service learning projects with their classes, there is a lot of content here that will be valuable to mentoring programs. Individual matches my get some ideas about service projects they can do together, and program coordinators can find lesson plans and other tools for arranging a group service experience for all their mentees.
The site features a searchable collection of service learning curricula and lesson plans, most submitted by actual programs around the country who have decided to share what worked for them. The collection of lesson plans can be searched by theme, grade level, duration, target population and more (you can also combine these criteria, narrowing your results to, say, environmental projects for 7th graders that last one week).
If you've done a successful service learning project in the past, you can upload your plans on the site as well.
