Summer of Service Grants

Summer of Service grants will support collaborative efforts to implement community-based service-learning projects during the summer months. Programs will engage between 100 and 500 middle school students in community-based service-learning projects that are "intensive, structured, supervised, and designed to produce identifiable improvements to the community". ...Program participants must complete at least 100 hours of service within the summer program, and note that they will receive an ed. award of $500 directly through CNCS (not out of program funds)! "For this competition, service activities should address environmental and/or disaster preparedness issues relevant to the community served."

Funding Estimated to be $1,000,000 for approximately 5-7 grants. Grants will be renewed for up to three years.
Eligibility: Schools and Nonprofits. Programs should have an established track record of running summer programs for 100 or more youth.
