Friends for Youth is pleased to invite you to join us at the 11th Annual Mentoring Conference in Northern California on January 21 and 22, 2010.

Youth Mentoring 2.0: The Impacts of Technology on Programs and Relationships
* Dates: Thursday, January 21, and Friday, January 22, 2010
* Location: Redwood Shores, CA
* Mentoring 101 pre-conference courses on Thursday
* Fifteen workshop sessions organized in three tracks on Friday
* Keynote presentation: Janis Kupersmidt, Ph.D.
* Register: by December 11, 2009 for EARLY BIRD rates: $130.00 for two days’ attendance and $75.00 for one day attendance, either day; regular rates after December 11, 2009: $150.00 for two days’ attendance and $85.00 for one day attendance, either day
* Lodging: conference rates available at the Hyatt Summerfield Suites; information available on the Conference page
* Transportation: San Francisco International Airport (SFO), 10 miles away, is the closest to the conference hotel; however, San Jose International Airport (SJC) and Oakland Airport (OAK) are both about 25 miles away and sometimes offer cheaper airfare and taxi service is available from all airports

I was just going to post something about this, but I see Sarah has beat me to it...

This is sure to be an excellent event. I think the use of technology is really changing not only how programs connect with volunteers and raise funds, but also how mentors and mentees keep in touch with each other and program staff. It will be interesting to see how a field that is almost inherently face-to-face adapts to some of these new tools and technologies.
