This article discusses the synergy of integrating mentoring and afterschool programs, and includes lots of good examples of how programs are accomplishing this:

Lots of good examples in this report. They should add the Tutor/Mentor Connection as a resource, because we focus on mobilizing the resources needed for these types of programs to be in all of the poverty neighborhoods where they are needed.

If you know of others who are connecting public and private dollars to the non-school places where volunteer-based tutoring/mentoring is taking place, similar to how we're using the Chicago Tutor/Mentor Program Locator to do this, please build a list of such sites so we can connect with each other.
