New Mentoring Evaluation Brief by PPV
Hi everyone. I just found out about a great new resource on program evaluation released by Public Private Ventures. Evaluating Mentoring Programs, by Jean Baldwin Grossman, is designed to provide both program operators and researchers with practical advice about how to assess a program's implementation and impact. Adapted from an article that first appeared in The Handbook of Youth Mentoring (DuBois and Karcher, ed. 2005), the brief focuses on the evaluation of mentoring programs, but the lessons and insights provided are broadly applicable to various kinds of social programs. The brief includes discussions of how to choose appropriate process and impact measures, impact design issues, and common mistakes made when analyzing evaluation data and how to avoid them.
This is great summary of the key issues in setting up an effective mentoring program evaluation, and it also offers practical advice to help you design an evaluation that will yield the answers you are seeking.
The brief is available for free download:
